We provide a full service from feasibility study through to project commissioning and operation. You are welcome to visit our demonstration site to learn about hydropower and how you can begin to realise your site’s potential.
• Initial site appraisal
This is a useful early appraisal of the site with the client, to determine the likely scheme size and the client's requirements and intentions. This can be particularly useful when undertaken at our demonstration site where clients can observe our turbine in operation, increase their knowledge and relate this to their own site
• Feasibility study
This includes detailed measurements of the head available at the site together with any pre-existing mill races or other structures on the site. A desk top estimate of the available water flow is prepared. The head and flow are used to estimate the potential annual electrical output and its value.
• Project Costings
Identify all major items of expenditure (intake, penstock, turbine, generator, controls, etc.) and obtain budget costs from appropriate suppliers. Calculate payback and return on investment.
• Ownership agreements and contracts
Some sites may impact on a neighbouring landowner who should be consulted at an early stage with regard to any necessary way leaves etc. being agreed. The client may or may not wish to involve us in this depending on how comfortable they are with answering any questions that may arise.
